to do something that you know the end result, usually somehing sad, is like freting over 'will-they-won't-they' clark-lana relationship when you know that clark will end up with lois...

another thing...lana lang, lionel luthor, lex luthor, lois lane...see somehing similar...they all have LL as their initials...
