Church going people...
Does the act of going to church requires us believeing in the notion of God ?
Maybe the question requires rephrasing. Does the act of going to church requires us to believe wholy in the church doctrines ?
I think most, if not all, people who go to church believe in the existence of a God, or at least a higher power we vaguely call God. Believing is a prerequisite, I think. However, I'm not that sure about the second question. The sense of believing in God is something almost irreplaceable in our lives. Almost all of us believe fully in the basic principle of faith and religion. But believing wholeheartedly on rules made by human, however holy that person or persons might be, is a different question.
What do we actually prove when we go to a church ? and to whom actually ? Do we need to prove anything in the first place ? Some people do actually think it is a proving ground. That they are religious or civilize or of a higher moral plane. Funny, isn't it ?
What do we look for actually when we go to a church ? What is it ? Most people will say it is to get closer to God, although I think a lot do it because of force of habit or even worse, because of fear. To routinize God.
I do hope most go for the right reasons.
Why do I go to church ? To find peace. The only place that can give me that kind of peace.
Maybe it is God.
