Hari Raya Idul Fitri
Ahh...Idul fitri is here. Not being a Muslim doesn't mean I can't enjoy Idul Fitri. Firstly, it's a holiday and any holiday is good (except chinese new year, but that's a different post). Half of my family from my father's side are Muslims anyway. Every year, my family will go to my uncle number three house and eat. After eating there, we'll go to my uncle number two place and eat again. The food is superb. Really. Unfortunately, I'm here, so no food for this year.
Of course, it's not just about the food. I have great respect for the day itself (and of course, to the people). I think it celebrates the winning against temptation after fasting for the whole month (please correct me if I'm wrong).
On a side but related note, this year, I tried fasting for a month. I figured that since I usually fast once a week anyway during JC time, why not doing it for a whole month now ? Obviously I'm too lazy to wake up in the morning to eat so usually I just eat dinner and binge on snacks before I sleep. I don't really follow their timing as well but more or less, it's still the same duration. And it's been really great. Still must do it for about a week plus though 'cos I skipped the first week.
So for Muslims out there (and for others too), Happy Hari Raya Idul Fitri ! Mohon maaf lahir batin.
