Friendly path

Life is a journey, with nooks and cranies and winding paths and hills and mountains. You meet people along the way and sometimes, they walk with you for a few steps, a few metres or a few miles. If you are lucky, they tag along for your whole life. Of course, it goes both ways. Your journey is also their journeys, both with different paths and different destinations and yet, together you two walk. But sometimes, these people left and as you turn your back and waved your goodbyes, the winding path or the hills or the mountains takes your sight out of them. And in the end, you go on, hoping perhaps someday your paths will cross again. And if you're lucky, they will.

I left Wati on my path almost a year ago and the winding path of school, the hills of worries and the mountain of burden kept us apart for the most part of the year. The paths crossed again yesterday. The first few steps were filled with lots of catching up: the sight we've seen, the mountains we've climbed and the paths we've treaded. And then we met, along with Linsey and Virgen. Dinner at Cartel was good and although I can't say for everyone, I had a good time. It's nice to meet someone along the way, especially old friends, and maybe this time the road, and the hills and the mountains, will be less cruel.
