Book Review : Ender's Shadow and Shadow of The Hegemon

I just found out about a week ago that NUS library has these two books after almost two years here. Since Ender's Game is one of my favourite books, it's hard not to like Ender's Shadow since it's basically almost the same story told from a different point of view, in this case, Bean's. Although Card said that each book can be read separately, it's much better if you read both of them because they complement each other. It's nice to find out why certain things happened as this book gives a lot of explanations. Synopsis of the book would be a background story of Bean plus Ender's Game plus a bit of story right after the Formic war. Highly recommended.

Shadow of The Hegemon is the continuation of Ender's Shadow. It tells the story of, mostly, Bean and Petra. The former trying to save the latter from the hands of Achilles, Bean's so called nemesis. As Card himself said, the book is like telling a story of a game of Risk plus politic and diplomacy where human lives are at stake. I think it's an alright book although not as exciting as the one before.
