Blogging for living...

I was blog surfing just now and just realised that blogging has become a lifestyle for some people. It has even become a living. Hits and readers are counted like cents and dimes. Boosting popularity through pictures and controversial posts. And all this while I thought blogging was supposed to be a personal reflection on issues in our lives. I thought it's something to be shared among closed friends or people who accidentally stumbled upon the blog. Publicising blog was an absurd idea for me back then. How innocent I was.

Certainly there's more to blogging than what I imagined it to be. It's social hierarchy all over again. The more famous blog constantly refered to by the less famous blogs and the more famous blogs mention the less famous blogs from time to time as if trying to help them gaining popularity. Geez, that sounds like high school to me.

Be it for me to judge what people do with their blog, it's their own problem. I just don't like the idea of internet fraternity-sorority kind of thing.

Fortunately, all those blog surfing leads me to this blog. I really like this one. She is, hmm what do you call it, real. The fact that she likes to read books helped a lot and the fact that she likes photography helped a little. She has kick ass taste in music, ie. Kings of Convenience and Aimee Mann, and the photos that she took are amazing. Of course the fact that she is gorgeous doesn't affect at all.
I'm a sucker for smart, beautiful girls who like to read books, so sue me.
