A Month's Worth of Looking Back

It's been a month since my last post and this blog slowly becomes "what's-happening-to-me-this-month" kind of blog. It's not that I do not want to post something but I've been really busy and there's nothing much that I could post about.

So just let me do an update and promise that the next post will not be a once-a-month update, I hope. Actually, it's pretty hard to do an update for someone with a very bad memory like me, so let's just do a "important-moment" kind of thing. Hmm, on second thought, let's just do "the-things-I-remember" list.

January was filled with expectation of Planar Chaos pre-release. The weeks leading to the pre-release were spent refreshing the spoiler page in mtgsalvation. Damnation shocked me and I just need a black counterspell to make me change colour to black. The pre-release itself was alright although a bit irritating since it was held at Expo. Erick, Kemal and I went together and we all left with, I think, 2 wins. I got called for a fun game though and got a booster minus the rare. I played practically mono-red splashing black. Torchling, Shivan Wumpus, Sulfurous Blast, Lightning Axe, orchish Cannonade, etc. forced me to play red since they were too good to pass. Splashing black might be a mistake, but I wanted to play with Avatar of Woe. I didn't get money cards though but all in all it was a pretty much decent pre-release.

School is getting busier and busier these days with all the projects, assignments, tutorials, readings and essays. I'm trying not to get left behind so early in the semester but I think it's inevitable.

I managed to read Murakami's "Birthday Stories" and "Blind Willow Sleeping Woman" though. Currently reading "Charlotte's Web".

It's pretty much birthday season as well. Fie's on the 31st, Erick's on the 3rd and mine yesterday with a bunch of others in between. I practically didn't do anything since I'm practically swamped with work. But I still managed to follow the tradition of eating noodle on my birthday though. And I indulged myself with a little Earl Grey Tea.

Really looking forward for next week's break although that would mean that deadlines are getting closer.

On a personal note, I really thought this would be it. The very end of quite a wonderful story with lots of ups and downs. I'm so used to disappointment that I don't even care anymore. I can't even believe that this March, it would be five years since the beginning. The five years mark that I've waiting for since, well, five years ago. I guess, I just have to be realistic.
