Another review in another blog...
2 reviews coming...
firstly, 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'...
I agree completely with kemal...you must forget completely the comic to be able to enjoy the movie...
it's a far cry from the comic...a far far one...in terms of story and characterization...the comic is deeper...
maybe its because the movie has an obligation to bring money in...
the characters in the movie has more past...and tragedy...
in the movie...all of them are goody two shoes...big mistake...
the movie also reveals the characters very early...their pasts and tragedies...
it is also sorely lacking in those literary reference that is so abundant in the comic...
don't get me wrong...the movie was good because it was different from the comic and the twist was quite good...
but I just don't feel it has the same...aura...as the comic...
second review is the book 'Ender's Game' by Orson Scott Card...
to put it simply...it is a great book...well, it won Hugo award not for nothing...
I never read any sci-fi book that has this kind of story...sure it has the sci-fi part...the futuristic stuffs and all...
but the most beautiful and moving part of this book is the drama...the mental drama that ender has...
although I still think that it is quite light in terms of philosophy and all...but it was good...the storyline, the plot, the twists...
it is one of the few books that can keep me going and going...
now I'm reading the continuation...
'Speaker for the Dead'...
I hope it's as good as the first one...
